The Burro Fire burning at the foothills of Redington Pass near Burro Tank has grown to 14,600 acres burned.

Officials say a thunderstorm south of Tucson has pushed the wildfire in every direction. This has forced evacuations to begin in Summerhaven Wednesday morning beginning at six.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, evacuations are underway for anyone south of the Palisades area on Mount Lemmon.

Redington Road from milepost 2 to 14 is closed. Mt Lemmon Highway is also closed from the base of the Palisades area at milepost 20.

According to the Coronado National Forest, the fire is zero percent contained.

A type 1 Incident Management team has been assigned.

The fire is burning in tall grass and brush with a moderate to high rate of speed.
