Rio Rico residents spotted a large black bear Monday.
According to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office, the bear was spotted on the West Frontage Road north of Exit 17.
A video of the bear shows it coming through the brush, taking a moment to stop and look at the person filming and then run away.
Mark Hart with Tucson's Arizona Game and Fish says the bear looks to be a female around 9-years-old.
"She was moving away from the person who took it and that is good news... bears that are afraid of people are just in search of something else," he said. "She is not a nuisance, she hasn't menaced anyone or done any dumpster diving so hopefully we classify it as a sighting and she heads for the hills at some point."
