Pedestrian struck and killed by car on east side

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police have identified a pedestrian who was killed near Camino Seco Wednesday night.

Officers say a pedestrian was hit by a car while running southbound across Broadway.

The victim, an adult male, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died. 

The victim has been identified as 60-year-old Michael Gauthier.

Sgt. Pete Dugan says the man was struck as he entered the eastbound lanes of Broadway.
 
The driver remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment. Speed does not appear to be a factor.
 
The pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk.
