A boy's 8th birthday was saved by a Wisconsin police officer.
When no one picked up the young boy from school, police intervened to see where his parents were. Turns out, they were in jail. It was also the boy's 8th birthday.
Officer Daryl Robinson got permission from the boy's grandfather to pick him up from school and treat him for his birthday. Officer Robinson took him to McDonald's and drove him around the area in the police squad car.
Officer Robinson says he was just doing his job. He says this type of thing is "not a rare occurrence."
Robinson says he was inspired by a former police captain who motivated him to become a police officer.
