TUCSON, Ariz. – Ajo Station Border Patrol agents stopped two smuggling attempts over the weekend.
The first attempt happened Friday night when Border Patrol agents stopped a sedan carrying six people for inspection on Federal Route 1.
Five of the six passengers were wearing camouflage, these five migrants were crossing illegally. The driver, a U.S. citizen was arrested for attempted drug smuggling.
The second attempted happened on Sunday on Federal Route 1 where BP officers arrested a SUV driver and passenger for the attempted smuggling of three migrants.
All eight undocumented immigrants were processed for immigration violations while the three U.S. citizens were charged with human smuggling.
