Border Patrol agents at the I-19 checkpoint near Amado found three illegal immigrants in the trunk of a vehicle on Monday morning.
During another stop, agents at the same checkpoint seized several bundles of cocaine from inside the door panels of a pick-up truck.
The three Mexican nationals were found in the trunk of a Hyundai Sonata by agents working with a canine unit. The driver, a U.S.citizen was arrested and faces federal charges.
On Tuesday, agents found more than 55 pounds of cocaine in a Chevrolet pick-up truck during a secondary inspection.
The cocaine was valued in excess of $630,000. The driver was arrested and faces drug smuggling charges.
