TUCSON, Ariz. — There was a special recognition by the non-profit Ben's Bells to a Tucson man who's been giving back to the community for decades Monday.
Roy Tullgren has been the director of Gospel Rescue Mission for nearly 20 years, and has been working with Big Brothers Big Sisters for more than four decades.
Roy Tullgren Ben's Bells recipient says "I always say that you go to volunteer to help someone else, to give to someone else, and yet you're the one that comes back with the biggest blessing. You think your giving and you get so much more than you give. So people that haven't experienced volunteering are really missing out on a great joy of life, a real blessing."
Under Tullgren's guidance, the Gospel Rescue Mission has become the largest homeless shelter in Tucson.
