With all the devastation going on in Mexico and Puerto Rico - many people want to help.

But before you help, make sure the websites you're donating to are credible.

Susann Miller with the Better Business Bureau says it's important to know where your money is going.

"I love that our nation is so generous and they see others in need and they want to help," says Miller.

With Despair, many people open their heart and their wallets but scammers don’t have the same intention.

For a full list of vetted charities visit Give.org and you will find charities that prove that your money will go to victims of Hurricane Maria and the earthquake in Mexico City.

While websites like go-fund-me are easy - those donating don't know if the money is actually going to those in need.
