Painted Sky Elementary School in Oro Valley issued a shelter-in-place order this morning after a bear was sighted in the area of North Woodburne Avenue and Arrowsmith Drive.
According to Oro Valley Police Department, someone observed the bear on a nearby trail and called 911.
Arizona Game & Fish was called.
Oro Valley Police will be in the area to help with safety, according to a social media post.
They advised in the post that residents in the area should bring their pets inside.
