TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A one-year-old baby boy was hospitalized after a near drowning in Rita Ranch, according to Tucson Fire.
Tucson Fire Capt. Andy Skaggs said crews responded to the 9000 block of Muleshoe Street after the baby's 10-year-old brother called 911.
The family released a statement via email saying that the baby is still in the ICU at Banner-UMC. The family said the baby fell into the family pool and the boy's mother began CPR before paramedics arrived.
They say the baby is doing well on the ventilator and showing signs of trying to breathe on his own.
The family is asking for privacy and prayers.
