The Arizona Board of Regents approved the contract of newly hired University of Arizona Vice President for Athletics, Dave Heeke, on Tuesday.
Heeke's contract is for five years and will make a base salary of $500,000 annually.

ABOR held a special meeting to discuss the search for UA's new president and the multi-year contract for Heeke.
Arizona announced that they were hiring Heeke on Saturday.
He previously served as the athletic director at Central Michigan University since 2006.
