Authorities are searching for a man who stole an elderly woman's purse at the Walmart located at 2175 West Ruthrauff Road.
According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, the suspect waited near the entrance to the store and began following the woman as she exited. Once in the parking lot, the man approached the woman from behind and grabbed the purse from her shopping cart.
He then ran to the east side of the building and fled the scene in a white SUV that was waiting for him. The vehicle left the parking lot heading southbound.
The suspect is described as:
- Hispanic or Native American, appearing to be in his 30s, with dark hair, and a tattoo on the right side of his neck
- Approximately 5’6” to 6’0” in height, medium build
- Last seen wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes
