TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Pima County Sheriff's Department has located missing 77-year-old David Frank Palmer in Mexico.
On Feb. 26, a press conference was held in an attempt to further spread the urgent need to locate Palmer.
Deputy Ryan Inglett, spokesperson with the Pima County Sheriff's Department says that shortly after the press conference, Palmer contacted his wife.
Pamler was calling from a gas station in Yecora, Mexico which is about four hours southeast of Hermosillo, Mexico.
Detectives contacted Mexican authorities, who responded to Palmers location and found him, said Inglett.
Sonora State Police drove Palmer to Hermosillo. Detectives coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation who picked him up in Hermosillo.
Palmer, 77, had last been in Nogales at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday when he drove to visit friends at Cropper Nogales Auto Group
"He's very thin, frail, and he gets confused at times," said his wife Norma. "We just think that maybe he went to go home and he stopped and he went the wrong way and went to Mexico."
