Authorities located a 79-year-old hiker who went missing on Saturday night, according to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office.
The hiker's son told authorities that he and his father had gone for a hike to the Charleston Ruins earlier in the day and was headed back to their car located at the trailhead parking lot.
The son reported that the two had gone off the trail but found a dirt road and started following it. The father got tired so the son went on to get the car to come back to his father.
After the son returned, he called the Sheriff's Office after searching for his father for about an hour.
Deputies from CCSO, US Border Patrol Agents, and the Tombstone Marshal's Office assisted in the search.
A BP agent who went out in front of the ground team trying to locate the hiker's footprints heard someone yelling and determined it was the missing man.
The man was then located and medically evaluated before being reunited with his son.
