SAFFORD, Ariz. (AP) - Graham County authorities are investigating the death of a Gila County man who was found alongside Highway 70.
They say 45-year-old Kent Keith Power was declared dead at the scene Saturday afternoon.
Graham County Sheriff's officials say Power was under investigation by the Gila County Sheriff's Office, but details weren't immediately available Monday.
Authorities say a family member was driving Power through Graham County when he asked to get out of the vehicle near Fort Thomas.
Graham County Sheriff's officials say Power was found with an apparent gunshot wound to his head and a handgun was next to his body.
Investigators say they were later told that Powers owned a handgun.
The cause of death will be determined by the county medical examiner.
