TUCSON, Ariz. — Art created by a Tucson City Council Member's late mother is being sold for a good cause.

Steve Kozachik's mother, Marian, got her masters in art from NYU at 68-years-old.

She died earlier this year. Kozachik says it wasn't until recently, that he found dozens of paintings by his mom.

Around 50 of Marian's paintings are now for sale at the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild in the Williams Centre.

Proceeds will go toward scholarships for students interested in art. Kozachik says that's what his mom would have wanted.

The paintings will be available through the end of the summer.

Gallery staff estimate the paintings will generate $6,000 in scholarship funds. Since 1981, SAWG has given over $100,000 in scholarships to students.
