TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division says veterans who have operated vehicles as part of their service can be eligible for a commercial vehicle skills test waiver when applying for a commercial license.
The goal, according to MVD Field Operations Administrator Mike Cryderman, is to give U.S. military veterans more options,"...it gives veterans who’ve honorably served this country more opportunities to use those skills once they return to civilian life,”
In order to be eligible, you would have needed to operate a military vehicle equivalent to a commercial vehicle in the last year and get a commanding officer’s certification backing that you have the required experience, says ADOT.
Potential applicants can find the waiver form (Form 96-0680) at www.azdot.gov/MVD [azdot.gov]
