Some of Arizona's brightest young minds took part in an adventure Friday.
1,000 students in 4th through 8th grades explored different areas of science, technology, engineering and math at Pima Community College's Northwest campus. They built rockets alongside Raytheon engineers, discovered chemistry through silly putty and got to experience different scientific fields through fun experiments.
The event was part of the Southern Arizona Research, Science and Engineering Foundation's annual educational outreach.
