Posted

The Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park west of Phoenix has welcomed Arizona's first baby sea lion.

Sunny the sea lion was born to his parents Paris and Crocket a couple months ago, the park said.

The pup entered the world at a whopping 17 pounds, according to Kristy Morcom, spokesperson for the zoo. Thanks to a smooth labor, both mom and pup are healthy.

Now two months old, Sunny weighs 33 pounds and is ready to make his public debut!

He can be seen in the sea lion habitat with his happy family. The sea lion exhibit was carefully designed, with the hope of one day welcoming a baby sea lion.

Wildlife World officials say guests will also be able to feed the sea lions during their two scheduled feeding times.

The zoo is located near the Loop 303 and Northern Avenue. Admission is $20 - $40 per person, plus tax. It is open every day from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. The aquarium is open until 7 p.m.
