FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a man from the mining town of Globe has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for killing a woman, injuring her passenger and endangering a police officer in a high-speed pursuit that ended in a wrong-way crash with two vehicles.

The Pinal County Attorney's office said this week 20-year-old Jaeden Spurgeon pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault in the April 10, 2017 crash.

That day, police received a call about a man who stole his girlfriend's SUV and found Spurgeon driving the vehicle in a parking lot.

After he almost hit an officer, officers chased him onto US Route 60 for 20 miles (32 kilometers). He then started driving the wrong way on a divided highway and collided with the cars.
