PHOENIX (AP) - The Latest on Gov. Doug Ducey naming utility regulator to state job and replacing him (all times local):

Gov. Doug Ducey has named a southern Arizona woman to a seat on the Arizona Corporation Commission to replace a commissioner he hired to run a large state department.
Ducey named Republican Lea Marquez Peterson to the seat vacated Thursday by Commissioner Andy Tobin. Marquez Peterson was the longtime leader of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and had a failed run for Congress last year in a race won by Democrat Ann Kirkpatrick.
Ducey appointed Tobin to run the Department of Administration, which provides business services and oversees state employees and benefits.
Tobin and other commissioners have recently been boosting pressure on the state's largest utility, Arizona Public Service Co. APS' parent company contributed to Marquez Peterson's campaign last year.

Gov. Doug Ducey has named an elected member of Arizona's utility regulation commission and former Arizona House speaker to run the large state department that provides business services and oversees state employees and benefits.
Ducey appointed Andy Tobin to run the Department of Administration on Thursday and said he was resigning from the Arizona Corporation Commission. Ducey will appoint Tobin's replacement at a time when the commission is boosting pressure on the state's largest utility, Arizona Public Service.
Ducey has tapped Tobin multiple times since he left the Legislature after the 2014 session. The Republican ran the Weights and Measures department, then the insurance and financial services departments before Ducey appointed him to a Corporation Commission seat in early 2016. Tobin was elected to a four-year term in November 2016.
