PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona's Registrar of Contractors says a 28-year-old man has been found guilty of contracting without a license.

The state agency said in a statement Wednesday that Mario Alberto Casillas was convicted of the misdemeanor in Flagstaff Justice Court.

The charges stem from an investigation into work he did to build a retaining wall, ramp and storage shed at a Flagstaff home. The work that was completed was poor and the shed was never built.

The woman who was renting the property said she was misled by the name of the contracting company Casillas gave, which is similar to the name of his father's licensed business. She told authorities she had wanted to improve the property for her son, a disabled military veteran.
