Tucson Police say an eastside apartment complex has been evacuated due to a gas leak in the area Thursday afternoon.
The leak is at Sherwood Garden apartment complex at 6534 East Stella Road.
"A contractor hit a gas line in the area causing a gas line break. Has is currently off and crews are on site making repairs," said Southwest Gas spokesperson Amy Washburn. "There is an evacuation in place of 30 residents of a nearby apartment complex."
