During the 6th annual 'Climb 4 the Fallen' 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, over 150 firefighters climbed a 17-story building, seven times, in full gear.

To have participated in the event firefighters, police officers and EMT's paid $40. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefiting fallen firefighters and the 'Climb 4 the Fallen' group.

Former FDNY firefighter, Dan Rowan, attended the event. He was part of the first rescue crews at the World Trade Center on 9/11.

"When you have a team of 15 that go in and 10 don't make it out. I've been to jobs before but never where I'm actually assisting my own where they don't come home to their family."

In their memory, hundreds of firefighters climbed the 17-story building to honor the lives of the 343 New York firefighters who died in 2001.
