The Salvation Army is helping to prepare young students for the new school year with the Annual Child Spree.

Partnering with JCPenney, Salvation Army officers, staff and volunteers helped the youngsters pick out clothing at the El Con Mall. Each child's budget was $100. 125 kids registered for this program.

It is a rewarding experience, because most of these children do not get many opportunities to go shopping, said Daniela Moreno, Salvation Army Volunteer Coordinator. It is important for each child to have the tools they need for a successful school year.
