Local Animal Welfare Agencies will team up June 24th for a community-wide "Microchip Marathon".
According to The Humane Society, over 10,000 stray pets enter Pima County animal shelters every year and only 2,000 are returned to their owners on average.
Our goal is to get pets back to their owners as quickly as possible. Microchips, with up to date information on file, is the quickest and easiest way to reunite pets with their owners, says Brandy Burke, Chief Operations Officer for the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
The locations for the "Microchip Marathon" include:
- Humane Society of Southern Arizona 9am-12pm
- Pima Animal Care Center 9am-12pm
- No Kill Pima County 9am-12pm
Additional clinics will also be offering microchipping (while supplies last) throughout June:
- Twin Peaks Veterinary Clinic
- ABC Clinic
