Amy's Donuts opened in Tucson on Monday morning, and the line was out the door all day long. After so many small businesses have closed their doors because of the minimum wage hike, the owners hope the Tucson community will help keep their doors open.

A husband and wife team operate the shop. It's the third location opening in the United States and the first here in Arizona.

According to a Tucson Metro Chamber minimum wage survey, 13% of businesses said they were in danger of closing because of the minimum wage increase passing back in November.

Dozens of businesses have had to raise prices, but some Tucson staples have had to close their doors like Shlomo & Vito's deli and Molina's Midway (after 64 years in business).

Coffee Xchange had to discontinue its 24-hour service, and Rocco's Little Chicago Pizzeria have had to raise prices and lay off staff.

The staff at Amy's said they're hoping their specialty products and online ordering services will keep people coming.
