The American Red Cross, Southern Arizona Chapter, continues to send volunteers to the East Coast to help with Hurricane relief efforts.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer will have the opportunity to go through an American Red Cross training event.
You must be 18 years old, or older, to participate. People will learn basic skills of shelter operations during disaster relief. That includes: how to set up a shelter, how to process clients, and how to assist with reuniting loved ones.
The training event is open to the public. It's on Saturday, Sept. 15th from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the American Red Cross location on 2916 E. Broadway.
