Border Patrol agents found more than 1,100 pounds of marijuana worth $550,000 near a hiking trail in Patagonia Monday.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, officers were walking a known smuggling route and noticed debris that appeared to be deliberately placed. Upon further inspection, they found that the debris was covering 55 bundles of marijuana wrapped in cellophane.
