TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - An annual pilgrimage from the U.S.-Mexico border to Tucson that aims to draw attention to the plight of immigrants will begin on Memorial Day.

A coalition of groups has organized the 13th annual Migrant Trail, which is set to take off from Sasabe, Mexico, on Monday and end on June 5 in Tucson.

Participants from different parts of the country and from as far as Central America will walk 75 miles from the border to Tucson during a one-week period. Organizers say they expect 150 people to walk.

Organizers say over 6,000 people have died while crossing the U.S.-Mexico border since the 1990s.

The U.S. Border Patrol reported 240 migrant deaths in fiscal year 2015, a decrease from 2014.

Advocates say many more migrants who die are never found.
