TUCSON, Ariz. — It's hard to do anything else when you're laughing.
A local yoga class has gathered every Tuesday since 2010 with one goal - making people laugh.
A session at Tucson Tuesday Laughter Yoga is unpredictable, something Certified Laughter Leaders Jana Martin and Loti Gest look forward to each week.
Voluntary laughter at the start evolves into uncontrollable smiles at the end.
"You know it's really cool to see someone who is hesitant or shy or not knowing what to expect and by the end, not everybody has a total transformation, but most people get it pretty quickly. You can't help but be sort of swept up by that," said Martin.
There are over 10,000 laughter yoga clubs in over 65,000 countries, including a few right here in the Old Pueblo.
People of all ages and physical abilities are welcome to drop in during any class and it's completely free.
"People like to talk about it because it's an experience they really enjoy, but it's really hard to talk about, so then you got to drag your friend in to see if they want to try it out and a lot of times that what will happen," said Gest.
Tucson Tuesday Laughter Yoga Gathers every week from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at 931 N. 5th Ave.
