His name is Mike Minnick and he's bicycling across the country for puppy love. More specifically, he's promoting animal shelters.
Mike is not alone on his 23,000-mile journey. He has his rescue dog Bixby and a rubber chicken named Charlie to keep him company.
Charlie actually has an important purpose: Safety. Instead of a flag, Mike hangs the rubber chicken from the back of his bike.
Besides spreading his love for animals, the former chain-smoking bartender from Austin, Texas has another goal too -- just enjoying life's adventures.
