PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities have released a 911 call about the Boy Scout who collapsed and died on a troop hiking trip in the southern Arizona desert.

The group was coming down Sunset Trail at Picacho Peak State Park on April 27 when they ran out of water.

That's when 16-year-old Joshua White of Goodyear started showing symptoms of extreme dehydration.

White reportedly collapsed once while heading down the trail and was helped by some of his fellow scouts.

He didn't get back up after collapsing a second time and was later pronounced dead.

On the 911 call released Tuesday, a man tells a Pinal County dispatcher the group desperately needs water and help.

The cause of White's death hasn't been released yet. It's unclear whether a medical condition was a contributing factor.
