U.S Border Patrol agents apprehended seven undocumented aliens and seized approximately $172,000 in marijuana in a remote desert area, south of Wellton, Arizona.
Agents assigned to Camp Grip, an operating base near the U.S./Mexico border were contacted by pilots from Air and Marine Operations, Yuma Air Branch. The agents were informed that seven individuals were spotted in their area, dressed in camouflage and carrying backpacks, which contained approximately 345 pounds of marijuana.
The men arrested have now been identified as Mexican nationals in the U.S. illegally. Currently the individuals and drugs are being processed under Yuma Sector Guidelines.
