A 5-year-old boy has died after he was pulled from a swimming pool in Mesa.
Officials for the Rural Metro Fire Department told KPHO-TV the incident occurred just before 1 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex near the area of Broadway and Hawes roads.
They say the boy was swimming at the community pool with his family when he went under.
One of the family members performed CPR on the boy until paramedics arrived. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
