PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say four people were injured when a wrong-way driver caused a head-on crash on Interstate 17 north of Phoenix.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crash Sunday night in between the Sunset Point area and Black Canyon City was caused by a pickup truck driver who was traveling southbound in a northbound lane.

The wrong-way driver, whose identity hasn't yet been released, is suspected of driving while impaired.

The truck struck an SUV carrying three people who suffered serious injuries.

One of the three to be extricated from the SUV.

The wrong-way driver is undergoing treatment at a hospital for injuries that weren't life threatening.
