TUCSON, Ariz. — A 3-year-old child is hospitalized after a rollover crash in Sierra Vista Thursday morning, police say.

A Cochise County deputy captured a vehicle traveling at a speed of 90 miles per hour on HW 90 Bypass.

The deputy tried catching up with the vehicle, but it crashed before the deputy could get there.

First responders arrived at the scene near the intersection of Highway 90 and Buffalo Soldier Trail, the driver 27-year-old Davonnte Payne, and her 3-year-old son.

The child was transported via helicopter to a Tucson-area hospital, police said.

Payne and a law enforcement official injured at the scene were hospitalized at the Canyon Vista Medical Center.

Officials say the vehicle rolled at least four times before coming to a stop on Fort Huachuca near the northeast corner of the intersection.

Sierra Vista Police say the accident is under investigation.

SVPD say alcohol/drugs were aslo a factor.

Payne has not been released from the hospital, and her son is said to be in stable condition at the Tucson hospital.
