TUCSON, Ariz. — An enthusiastic welcome home Monday night for 23 veterans from World War II Korean and Vietnam wars.
The group left for the nation's capitol on Saturday, and returned to the Tucson International Airport Monday evening.
They spent the weekend visiting the monuments honoring veterans like themselves who fought for our country in past wars.
WWII U.S. Army veteran Gerry Lessells said "I would say it's beyond description. it was absolutely incredible. It's not only seeing all the sights, but with all your fellow veterans and all the people that worked hard to make this come off was absolutely incredible."
Honor flight trips are at no cost to the veterans.
