CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - Chandler police have made two arrests in the shooting death of a 33-year-old man.
Police spokesman Seth Tyler said Friday that 31-year-old Luis Martinez and 23-year-old Ivan Contreras are being held in a Maricopa County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.
According to investigators, an officer conducting an unrelated investigation heard multiple gunshots on April 10.
He saw a man firing rounds.
Upon the arrival of additional officers, they found Darrell Rushing already dead of gunshot wounds.
Police located Martinez on Wednesday but did not say what led them to arrest him. Contreras was subsequently arrested the next day.
Tyler did not give a motive for the shooting.
It was not immediately known if either suspect had an attorney.
