TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Eighteen recruits successfully completed the 21-week training academy.
Capt. Barrett Baker, Public Information Officer with the Tucson Fire Department says the 18 recruits completed the 21-week training and have graduated to the the rank of firefighter.
On Thursday, the recruits hosted a family night at the Public Safety Academy and demonstrated repelling off a tower, an aerial climb, live fire props simulating a car fire and natural gas fire, and lastly an auto extrication using the Amkus Tools (Jaws of Life).
