PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a teenage boy has died after being hit by a car.
Sgt. Vince Lewis says the incident occurred just before 7 a.m. Monday on Southern Avenue near Central Avenue.
The 15-year-old was crossing Southern mid-block when he was hit. He was transported to a hospital but died from his injuries.
The driver of the car, who stayed at the scene, showed no signs of impairment.
The street is expected to remain closed for several hours.
The teen's name was not released.
