The 14th annual Tucson Tamal & Heritage Festival is coming up next weekend.
The unique festival has become a Tucson tradition to mark the beginning of the holiday season.
There is a stiff competition for who makes the best tamales in town, and the winners will be given cash prizes.
Participants can also shop for gifts from artisan vendors and enjoy cultural entertainers showcasing dance performances and music groups.
The event will be on December 1, at Casino Del Sol's Ava Amphitheater from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
