Police in Phoenix say a 12-year-old girl has died after a hit-and-run accident.
They say the girl was struck about 5 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Indian School Road.
According to police, the girl was crossing 59th Avenue when she was hit by a vehicle and the driver didn't stop.
Police say the girl was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The name of the girl hasn't been released yet.
Police say their investigation into the fatal hit-and-run is ongoing and they are trying to locate the driver involved.
