SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — One person is dead and another hospitalized after a crash on Highway 90 in Sierra Vista Tuesday morning, police say.

It happened just before 6 a.m. near the highway's intersection with Airport Road, Sierra Vista Police said in a news release Tuesday morning. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found two cars with extensive damage on the front of each vehicles.

Police say witnesses saw a green minivan cross the center line to hit a silver sedan head-on. The driver of the minivan -- 40-year-old Lisa Martinez of Huachuca City -- was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan -- 66-year-old John Bolgen of Sierra Vista -- was rushed to a Tucson hospital via helicopter for treatment.
