A major fire has caused evacuations in nearby homes.
Gilbert firefighters said people living along Civic Center Dr to Nunnely to Devon near the intersection of Gilbert and Warner were evacuated.
Crews said the fire started in an apartment complex that was under construction and has spread to a nearby house.
Officials said the fire had been upgraded to a five-alarm fire and were fighting the flames defensively. People were asked to avoid the area to reduce congestion.
Authorities said there were no immediate reports of any injuries as a result of the fire.
Video from ABC15 viewers submitted on Twitter showed heavy smoke and flames coming from the construction site.
