Gilbert police say a former NFL player was arrested on Sunday night after he fled from officers, KGUN sister station KNXV reports.
Davone Bess, who was a wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns, was reportedly taken into custody after a standoff at his home near Higley and Pecos roads.
Bess took off from a traffic stop near San Tan Village Parkway and Williams Field Road earlier on Sunday night.
Police found him barricaded inside his home where SWAT officers eventually took him into custody.
He is being charged with endangerment, felony flight and failure to stop for police.
