New details surrounding shots fired on UNLV campus

At 10:20 a.m. two cars drove through the UNLV campus on Harmon Avenue, near Swenson.

One driver fired shots at a vehicle he was trailing through the campus. The shots were reportedly fired in the vicinity of the Claude I. Howard Public Safety Building. The driver who shot at the vehicle has left the campus.

A witness to the incident spoke with our 13 Action News team and detailed what he saw on campus and reporter Tom George was at UNLV for the press briefing.

Police said during the briefing that the person who was shot at is an employee at UNLV. Her 11-year-old daughter was with her in the vehicle at the time of the shooting.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and UNLV police are investigating the situation. The UNLV campus is secure and no further incidents have been reported.

No injuries were reported.
