UPDATE (9:22 a.m., Nov. 4):
Pima County Sheriff's Department is saying the pedestrian struck case that took place near Valencia and Cardinal on Oct. 29 may be related to a nearby stabbing case.
According to PCSD, deputies were responding to the stabbing call when a separate call reporting the pedestrian struck was received in the same area.
An investigation revealed that the collision may have been related to the stabbing. The two incidents occurred within minutes of each other and in close proximity, PCSD said.
The investigation is ongoing.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is responding to a collision near Valencia Road and Cardinal Avenue.
A pedestrian was struck near the intersection of Cardinal Avenue and Valencia Road around 7 p.m.
The Pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Both westbound and eastbound lanes on Valencia Road are closed between Camino De La Tierra and Cardinal Avenue.
