UPDATE (10:56 a.m., May 21):
According to a news release from Tucson Police, the cause of the crash Monday was a car crossing the yellow line into oncoming traffic.
At about 10 a.m., a Nissan Versa was heading northbound on Country Club Road when it crossed the northbound double-yellow line, a hit a Kia Sorento, traveling south, head-on, the news release said.
According to TPD, both cars were traveling at reasonable speeds and there was no indication that either driver was impaired. The driver of the Versa was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the three of the people in the Sorento were transported to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.

A person is dead after a crash near Country Club Road and Camino Campestre, according to the Tucson Police Department.
The roadway will remain closed while officers investigate the scene Monday morning.
Details are limited, but KGUN 9 will provide updates from the Tucson Police Department.
