UPDATE (1:36 p.m. 4/15):

An interim complaint and news release from Tucson Police Department on the alleged incident at Doris Thompson Park, where a man was found dead at the scene, reveals that another man, Daniel Webster, was arrested on suspicion of murdering the victim.

According to the complaint, Tucson officers were dispatched to reports of an unconscious man under a ramada at the park, 2000 N. Fourth Ave.

Upon arrival, they found the victim, identified as 60-year-old Michael Lee Baker in a TPD press release, on the ground with extensive head trauma, the complaint said. There was a large amount of blood spatter, and there were bloody shoes impressions on the ground, the complaint said.

The man appeared to have been beaten. He had a broken jaw, and at least some of his teeth were located on the ground, the complaint said.

The blood spatter was consistent with repeated blunt force trauma, the news release said.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The shoe impressions appeared to have been made by Vans.

During the investigation, TFD told TPD detectives that they had responded to a call of an unconscious man at a nearby Fry's the night before.

A fire captain told TPD that the man woke up while they were there. He became belligerent and wanted to fight. The male had bloody, checkered pattern Vans shoes and had a bloody right hand.

The man, who identified himself as "Daniel," gave his address and age, the complaint said. He walked away from the scene and refused medical attention.

Detectives learned that Daniel Webster lived at the address, and he matched the description. A search warrant was served at the address, and Webster was contacted and interviewed.

The clothing described by the caption was found in the home, including the bloody pair of Vans.

Webster told investigators that he remembered being at the park at 5 p.m. on April 12. He said he was partying with his friends and drank 12-14 shots of tequila.

He said he was drunk when he left the park, but didn't remember anything after that. He said he didn't remember fighting anyone. He said he remembered going to the Fry's parking lot after the park and breaking his phone, then punching a telephone pole, the complaint said.

Webster's pants had blood on the right pant leg, the complaint said. The Vans had a lot of blood on the right shoe and less on the left shoe. He had injuries on his right knuckle, his nose, and his right forehead.

Webster was arrested and has been charged with first-degree murder.
